Indore : CA Manoj Fadnis, national president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was elected as Deputy President of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) at its board meeting held in Seoul, on Tuesday.
The tenure of Fadnis will be of two years and he gets this coveted position after a gap of 10 years.
CAPA is the regional organisation representing national accountancy organizations of Asia-Pacific region and ICAI is one of founding members of CAPA. Today, CAPA has a membership of 31 accountancy organisations in 23 jurisdictions.
The ICAI has been playing a proactive role in positioning the Indian accounting profession prominently on all international accounting forums and building its brand image internationally.
Hailing from Indore and with more than 28 years of experience and proven track record, Fadnis has held numerous leadership positions within the accountancy profession in India. On the international front, he is the Assembly & Board Member of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and is the Chair of the SMP Committee of SAFA. He is also the Technical Advisor to the Board member of the International Federation of Accountants.
Fadnis has varied experience in area of taxation and auditing. He represented ICAI at various international forums, where he espoused the concerns of SMPs in the developing nations like India.
