BHOPAL : Vyapam scam may have hotted up the political scenario of the state but there are wide differences of opinion within the Congress and the BJP on the issue.

On one hand, Congress’s state president Arun Yadav, leader of opposition Satyadev Katare and spokesman KK Mishra are grilling the government but party’s senior leaders Kamalnath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Suresh Pachori have not given their reaction so far. Sources said Congress top leaders are annoyed with Mishra as his allegations against chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan fell flat.

Former chief minister Digvijay Singh had a discussion with state president Yadav on Mishra’s allegations proving to be false. Former Congress state president Kantilal Bhuria might take this matter to the party high command.

Sources said Pachauri is silent in this matter as Sanjiv Saxena, who is in jail in Vyapam scam, is close to him. Kamalnath and Scindia are also not showing interest in Vyapam scam.

Similarly, BJP is also facing internal tussle in Vyapam scam.

No one except state government spokesman and health minister Narottam Mishra has given statement in support of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Home minister Babulal Gaur, former minister Kailash Joshi and other big leaders are not openly coming out against the Congress. The BJP leaders facing allegations in the Vyapam scam have to defend themselves. Despite Suresh Soni’s name surfacing in the issue, RSS leaders have also maintained silence.

Political analysts maintain political leaders are looking to take political mileage from the Vyapam scam and that is why they are not defending those who are facing allegations. That is why it has turned into clash of individuals rather than a battle between two political parties.
