SANAWAD: In a fresh reaction to the recent incident in which Municipal Corporation Chairman Narendra Sharma was allegedly caught red-handed accepting bribe of Rs. 10 lakh by Lokayukta police; BJP functionaries created ruckus at Municipal Corporation and demanded the resignation of Corporation Chairman over corruption charges. CMO PK Suman and Lady Sub-inspector Mikita Chauhan collectively pacified the situation.
After locking the main gate of the corporation, the BJP functionaries reached at tehsil office while chanting slogans and handed over the demand memorandum to Tehsildar Satyendra Berwa and SDOP Nisha Reddy. The BJP functionaries cautioned the Governor in their demand memorandum that the accused can influence the ongoing investigation if he remains out of judicial custody and demanded for immediate arrest and resignation of the tainted officer.
When Free Press contacted to 40-year-old Praveen Singh Solanki he said that Corporation’s chairman Narendra Sharma demanded Rs.25 lakh for 18 meter of the road which had to be left as per construction map passed by Town and Country Planning (T&CP). But I didn’t want to give the amount so I contactacted the lokayukta police before giving the first installment of demanded amount (Rs.1000000).
