Gave many suggestions regarding the rail connectivity of the stateasked for improving facilities at railway station

Ratlam: Member of Parliament from Ratlam and senior Tribal Leader Dilip Singh Bhuria has urged the Union Railway Minister for completing the gauge conversion work between Fatehabad-Indore earliest so that passengers can get the train services from Ratlam to Indore on the shorter route.

In a letter to the Union Railway Minister D V Sadanand Gowda, Bhuria hoped that under his leadership railways would write a new era of development and services.  He said that Ratlam is an important railway junction on the Mumbai-Delhi route and it serves the needs of large number of people including those from nearby districts. Bhuria said that the distance between Fatehabad-Indore is just 46 km and early completion of gauge conversion work will provide much awaited facility of train connectivity between Ratlam-Indore via this route.

Bhuria further said that Ratlam being an important railway junction need sanction of the stoppages of many Sampark Kranti and Express trains, which pass through Ratlam but do not have stoppage at Ratlam.  He said that after Kota the Sampark Kranti and other trains have stoppages at Vadodara in Gujarat while Ratlam serves the needs of the passengers of Madhya Pradesh in big way. Hence, it is justified that all the trains, which pass through Ratlam, are given stoppage here, keeping in view the stoppage in MP.

While giving suggestions for the expansion of the railway facilities, Bhuria said that  there is need of running an overnight train for reaching to Bhopal, the state capital, early morning and thus he suggested an express train can be run between Dahod-Meghnagar-Ratlam-Bhopal overnight. He said that 12929/30 Valsad-Dahod train should be extended up to Ratlam so that tribal people of my parliamentary seat get proper rail connectivity.

Bhuria said that there is a need of reconsidering the stoppage policy of Duranto Express trains, which do not have any stoppage between originating and terminating points and run end-to-end basis.  He suggested that for complete utilization and benefits of important stations, at least two stations should be given stoppages for instance between Indore-Mumbai at Ujjain and Ratlam.

He said that as per his information the occupation on an average basis is just 60% and if stoppages are given as suggested then there will be full utilization of this train throughout the year.He also suggested that there is need of introducing a daily service on the lines of Janshatabdi Express between Indore-Surat, which pass through Ujjain, Ratlam, Dahod, Godhra, Varodara, which will provide better rail connectivity between important business cities of MP and Gujarat.

He said that there is need of introducing a new train between Indore-Mumbai daily as 12961/62 Awantika Express, which runs at present, was introduced long back but the demand has increased manifold.Bhuria drew attention of the Union Railway Minister about the need of reviewing the railway enquiry system via telephone as dialing telephone No.139 is not convenient for the passengers of semi urban, rural and tribal areas as it involved a process in which train numbers etc. required to be given.

He suggested that there should be an easy system via telephone for informing the public about the status of running of the trains as present system is complicated one. Similarly, a special cell for drinking water availability at the railway stations and maintaining cleanliness should be formed at the zonal level as on these issues there is very unsatisfactory scenario on the Indian Railways. There should be an effective method, which ensures the availability of the drinking water at the railway stations and ensures cleanliness at the platforms.

He stressed the need of providing some facility to the senior citizens, aged and handicapped persons for easy movement at the platforms. At present, it becomes a tough task to move on such lengthy platforms from one end to another. He suggested that there is need of finding some solution to provide relief to the aged persons and senior citizens in their movement on the lengthy platforms for boarding or de boarding the trains.
