Locals gather near the site where the Cessna aircraft crashed at Chimes Aviation Academy, in Sagar on Saturday

BHOPAL: A plane skidded on the runway before take-off at Dhana, in Sagar district, on Saturday. The pilot survived in the accident and an investigation team was rushed to the site. Union minister for civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia ordered an inquiry into the matter, said officials.

SP Sagar Atul Singh said solo flight trainee Ishika Sharma was on a regular training flight. She was piloting a Cessna aircraft which skidded on the airstrip just before take-off. The aircraft belongs to the Chimes Aviation Academy, situated at Dhana. The recovery team of the academy safely pulled out the pilot from the plane. They also secured the plan from any fire hazard and put a security cover on it. The SP added that the trainee was safe and the investigating team would assessing the damage to the aircraft. Union minister Scindia tweeted: “Just got news of a crash of a Cessna aircraft (solo flight) that belonged to the Chimes Aviation Academy in Sagar, MP. Fortunately, the trainee is safe. We are rushing an investigation team to the site.”
