Indore : Some BEd aspirants staged a protest at New Girls Degree College when they were asked to produce unwarranted documents to secure admission in the two-year course.

The New GDC is one of the centres for documents verification of students allocated admission in BEd colleges.

On Saturday, some students went to the college with their academic documents including mark sheets, domicile certificate and caste certificates. But the college staff verifying the documents sought migration, and college leaving certificates (CLC) also from the students.

The students argued that migration and CLC are not required to be verified, the college staff denied approving their cases. To this, the students staged a sit-in on the campus.

The matter reached to Indore division additional director (higher education) Dr Narendra Dhakad who instructed the college to approve the cases of the protesting students.

He reportedly told the college staff that migration and CLC is not required during document verification as claimed by the students. After the AD’s instructions, the college verified their cases.
