Be with Yoga, Be at Home: Centre declares common protocol for International Day of Yoga on June 21

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Considering Covid-19 spread and risk involved in gatherings, the union government has asked people to celebrate International Day of Yoga by performing yoga at home.

The theme this year is, Be with yoga, Be at home. The officers and employees of all AYUSH institutions will perform yoga at home from 6.30 am to 7.45 am on June 21.

The General Assembly of United Nations passed a resolution on December 11, 2014, that June 21 will be celebrated as International Day of Yoga every year. Since then, International Day of Yoga is observed all over the world on June 21. District AYUSH Officer Dr Himmat Singh Dabur said like last year, it is not possible to organise mass programmes this year too due to Covid pandemic.

Common yoga protocol has been declared by Centre for this purpose. Its digital link is- https://YOGA.ayush.gov.in/pubic/assets/iDY/e.book /.

The centre has asked yoga practitioners to motivate corona patients in isolation and people who have recovered to perform yoga everyday to build lung strength and improve immunity.
