Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): With every passing day, the situation in Barwani district is heading to being normal as the last two patients undergoing treatment at Ashagram Covid Care Centre were discharged on Friday.
Both the outgoing patients were presented a sapling by health department staff members who asked them to follow Covid norms and remain in isolation for stipulated time period.
In fact, entire Barwani district has witnessed a negative trend in past fortnight as the number of discharged patients is more than number of new patients. At present, Barwani district has 242 active patients who are either undergoing treatment at Covid care centres or in home isolation.
So far, the district has recorded 8,268 novel coronavirus cases with 76 deaths and 7,943 recoveries.
From May 22-28, district reported 72 new cases (10.25 cases daily) with only one death. Against this, 354 people were discharged (50.5 daily), nearly five times more than the new cases. District recorded a decrease in number of active patients by 283.
However, district administration doesn’t want to drop its guard as it is keeping eye on possible third wave. It has begun preparations for Covid care ICU ward for children at the district hospital.
District collector Shivraj Singh Verma visited district hospital to review preparations for paediatrics ward. Collector asked engineer and contractor to complete the remaining work by June 2. Verma also visited unit for new-borns. Chief medical and health officer was present at the hospital.
