Auto-rickshaws with female drivers to start soon in City

Indore :  In order to ensure safety of women in public transport, Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) on Friday proposed to launch auto-rickshaws with their tops having Pink colour. The rickshaws will be driven women drivers and be fitted with GPS trackers.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of AICTSL, chaired by Mayor Malini Gaud, on Friday. The officials felt that there was a need to make public transport safer for women. They proposed to start the auto-rickshaws with women drivers.

The top portions of these auto-rickshaws will be given Pink colour. these vehicles will have GPS tracker installed to keep a tab of its location.

In order to meet the demand of soaring number of commuters, the AICTSL decided to run 65 small buses on 16 routes of the city. The routes of the buses will be decided later.

It was informed that at all the bus stops of the BRTS the ticket wending machines would be installed.

The AICTSL also decided to install GPS tracker on all their buses. It also planned to develop boom barriers at Sarwate and Gangwal bus stands.

The officials also decided to install traffic signals will be installed at Rasoma and Shalimar Township squares and align tele-rickshaws with I-bus services.

The AICTSL also decided to apply for a copyright for I-Bus, Sky Bus, I-Ride, and I-Bike services.
