Indore Lok Aayukt DSP takes actions against corrupt ASI

Bhikangaon/Khargone: The Lok Aayukt sleuths of Indore division arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) posted at a city police station here while taking bribe of Rs 3,000 red-handedly here on Tuesday. The arrested ASI was taking the bribe from bus operator company’s supervisor for presenting the challan in the court.

The ASI had demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant, but he agreed to give Rs 3,000. The bus company supervisor informed the Lok Ayukt police, Indore and when he was giving the bribe amount to the ASI, the Lok Ayukt team nabbed him at the police station.

Lok Aayukt DSP SL Kataria informed that supervisor of Patil Bus Service Azam Pathan lodged a complaint to Lok Aayukt that the ASI Mithilesh Mishra had demanded a bribe from him. Pathan informed that his company’s parked bus at the bus stand was hit by a four-wheeler vehicle on May 9. The driver had demanded to pay Rs 10,000 against damage compensation and when the amount was not paid, the vehicle driver lodged a police station.

After that, police seized the bus and took away at the police station on May 11. The ASI had demanded the bribe of Rs 5,000 for presenting the challan in the court from the complainant.Later on, the complainant Pathan reached at Indore and lodged a complainant along with the voice recording of the ASI at the Lok Ayukt police. The Lok Aayukt police confirmed the voice recording and asked Pathan to give Rs 3,000 and when Pathan was giving Rs 3,000 to ASI, the Lok Aayukt DSP arrested him red-handedly.

After arresting him, the Lok Aayukt DSP interrogated ASI Mishra at the police station. After that the bribe case was registered against ASI Mishra under section 7, 13 (1) D, 13 (2) of Corruption Act. The Lok Ayukt team included T-I Anil Chauhan and Yuvraj Singh, head constable Kanchan Singh, constable Pramod Yadav, Kamlesh Parihar, Sher Singh and RS  Gurjar.
