Indore: A cop suffered a massive heart attack on Monday while on duty and died. It is alleged that excess workload led to heart attack. According to sources, the cop was identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Vishwanath Yadav (57). Yadav was posted at Vijay Nagar Police Station since 2011 and had two years for retirement. He was earlier posted at Sarafa, Bhawarkuwa and Manpur Police stations.

On Monday, a woman had died during treatment at Synergy Hospital after which her family members created a ruckus. The police were called and ASI Yadav reached the spot and he took the body to MY Hospital for an autopsy. While the autopsy was being performed, Yadav complained of uneasiness and he was admitted into the ICU where he reportedly died during treatment. Senior police officers reached the hospital and ordered an autopsy.

Meanwhile, sources said that excess workload led to the attack as Yadav was investigating close to 25 cases. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
