APPLICATION FOR HURTING SIKH RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS DISMISSED

Indore: A local court, on Tuesday dismissed the application filed against Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai for hurting sentiments of the Sikh community by donning a turban to pose as a Sikh. The court dismissed the application saying that there’s no legal basis to launch any trial against the accused.

The court also stated that the Indian Constitution allows every single citizen to wear any dress of his/ her choice. The application was dismissed by the court of JMFC, Manoj Ladiya It is to be noted that president of ‘ uva Sikh Morcha’, Gagandeep Singh Bhatia, had filed an application in the court contending that by sporting a turban, Sai had hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.

Complainant’s lawyer Indrajeet Singh Bhatia said that the court observed that Sai’s wearing a turban did not hurt the sentiments of Sikh community.
