Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): Covid norms are being flouted by middlemen at vegetable mandi here as district administration remains a mute spectator. They neither maintain social distance nor wear masks.
Everyday, farmers visit the biggest mango market of region here. On Tuesday, when mangoes were sold in presence of wholesaler Mohammad Fruitwale, Covid norms were flouted. The latter was also seen without wearing mask properly.
The officer incharge Anil Bhuria was busy supervising the vehicles brought to the mandi and getting them parked. During corona curfew, action has been taken against people breaking rules by the revenue department and police. Now that unlock has begun, administration seems to be turning a blind eye to violation of Covid guidelines.
When contacted, Anil Bhuria said, “We are trying to get the corona rules followed. Even after explaining the danger, people are negligent. Now, we will inform the SDM”.
