Indore: After death of three kids due to measles in Jhabua district, the health department announced alert in Indore district, on Tuesday. The department also took some steps after receiving report from the MGM Medical College team, which visited Jhabua recently.

As per information, after getting information of measles deaths in Meghnagar, Joint Director, Health Dr Sharad Pandit left for Meghnagar immediately. On the direction of the department, a team of MGM Medical College comprising Dr Suraj Sirohi, Dr Sunil Aarya, Dr Sachin Verma and Dr Ashutosh Shrivastava also reached the village.
According to sources, the doctors also sent report to the Joint Director, who forwarded it to the State Government. The report confirmed three deaths due to measles and said about 20 children are still suffering from the disease.
“The report also stated the reasons of the disease including that of children who didn’t get the dose of booster injection after anti-measles vaccine,” sources added.

The district health department also directed the health officers in the city to find out children below age one and vaccinate them. Experts said that as per the trend of measles virus, it attacks in every three years.
