Indore : The AICTSL board has given approvals to buy 170 new buses under JNNURM- 2, out of which 100 will be AC buses. The board also gave approvals to start operation on 15 new routes.
The AICTSL, in its board meets on Wednesday, gave approval to as many as 7 proposals, including the above two proposals.
The meeting was chaired by Mayor KM Moghe. The urban public transport system CEO, Sandeep Soni told that the 170 buses will be bought from Tata Motors and Eicher.
The AICTSL board also gave approval to a proposal to start bus operations from Indore to Ratlam, Pandoran, Alirajpur, Reewa, Neemach, Surat, Sagar, Kota, Mandsour, Baroda, Aurongabad, H o s h a• g a b a d , Chhindwara, Gwalior and Rajgor routes. All of these will be AC buses.
In view of availing the new facility to the passengers on the BRTS Corridor, the board gave approval to the proposal to install a vending machine at I- bus stops, which will serve drinking water, chips packets and cold drinks.
The tendor of the Wending machines will soon be issued. The board also gave its consent to start bus operations on four new routes.
The routes are route no.
9 CAT, Hawabangla to Manawta Nagar, Kanadiya, route no. 25 ( from Indore railway station to Indorama), and route no. 14, MH hospital to Aurbindo Hospital and route no. 18 IPS College to Sukhaliya.
Bike on rent on from AICTSL Very soon AICSTL will start bike on rent to visit nearby picnic spots. The project will be flowed under the PPP model. The services will be rendered with the name I- ride.
