Indore : The district administration earmarked 50-acre land, on Thursday for Metro Train Depot. Some portion of the land, which falls under the Forest Department, would be de-notified.

In a meeting of Revenue and Nazul Department officials held at the Collector’s chamber on Thursday.

Later ADM Dilip Kumar said that the district administration had decided to offer 50 acre land located close to the city airport and Bijasan for MP Metro Rail Corporation to establish a major depot. Very soon, the corporation would be informed about the decision saying that it may earmark the land for the Light Metro Train project.

The ADM, who is also holding charge of Nazul, said that before formation of the Corporation, the consultant firm, Rohit Associates had approached the administration seeking 50 acre land for the Metro Train depot.

Out of 50 acre, around 12 acre is owned by the Forest Department. Hence, the said land would be denotified from the Forest Conservation Act, which needs approval of the state as well Union Government too.

It may take time for approvals from both the governments but preparation of the DPR should not get delayed, hence the MP Metro Rail Corporation would be informed that the land has been earmarked. The meeting was attended by District Nazul Officer Sapna Shiwale.
