Indore : The government’s mandate that no admissions will be allowed after July 15 is likely to leave thousands of seats vacant in various colleges offering UG and PG courses. Students who seek admissions to these colleges after counselling in the university and colleges of other states would be impacted most by the change.
The Higher Education Department had allowed direct admissions (CLC) between July 25 and 28 every academic year for vacant seats in colleges after online counselling. The arrangement worked out for both colleges and students who appeared for other competitive examinations.
Following agitation by the ABVP to restart the registration link, the government announced opening of the link from July 7 to 15 which resulted in cancellation of CLC from July 25 to 28.
As per the new rules issued on Tuesday, CLC and counselling process will be conducted simultaneously. This would mean that students can, if they wish, attend counselling via registration through MP Online or they can go directly to any of the government colleges they desire and get the verification done. However, in both instances, the process needs to be completed by July 15.
In this context, Dr Narendra Dhakad, additional director, Higher Education, said that link was restarted until July 15 to enable those students who had missed out on counselling session.
