Administration takes out ‘Sadbhavna Rally’ to promote communal harmony

Dhar : Dhar district administration took out a ‘Sadbhavna Rally’ here on Thursday in view of Basant Panchami celebrations at Bhojshala. The rally started from Lalbagh and concluded at Rajbada.

Ex-Congress MLA Mohan Singh Bundela addressed the rally before it was flagged off and said that communal harmony should be maintained in Dhar at any cost. Various other social activists including Dr Lata Chauhan, Nisar Ahmed and Kuldeep Singh Dhang addressed the rally.

After the rally, district collector Shreeman Shukla addressed the media persons and said that an example of communal harmony should be set in Dhar and strict action would be taken against the persons attempting to disturb the communal harmony. Collector said that today’s Sadbhavna Rally was a grand success and scores of people from every walks of life participated in the rally. He appealed all the members of both the communities to celebrate the Basant Panchami festival will full religious fervour while maintaining peace. Chairman of Urs committee Nisar Ahmed informed the media persons that this is the duty of administration to help perform the Namaz and Puja peacefully at Bhojshala.

Dhar SP Rajesha Hingankar, SP Rai Singh Narwaria, SDM Jitendra Chauhan and other senior administrative and police officials were among others present on the occasion. The members of Hindu organisations including Dhar MP Savitri Takur, MLA Neena Verma and others boycott the rally. The entire market of the town was shut for half of the day due to the rally. This year, Basant Panchami has been scheduled on Friday. However, a tense situation has been prevailing, as both Hindu and Muslim organisations said that they would perform their prayers at Bhojshala on the same day (February12, Vasant Panchami).
