Indore: The man, who killed his ex-fiancee at their office near RNT Marg on Tuesday night, fled to Barnagar after crime and attempted suicide by consuming toilet cleaner there in a hotel. He was saved due to timely treatment. He is undergoing treatment at a city hospital under police custody.

City Superintendent of Police (Sanyogitaganj) Jyoti Umath said that 28- year-old engineer Roshni Agrawal was killed by her colleague Rounak Dubey following the argument between them at the second floor of their office building on Tuesday night. The accused after slitting Roshni’s throat with knife fled to Barnagar in Ujjain district to evade arrest. Rounak stayed there in a hotel where he consumed toilet cleaner to kill self but was spotted by a hotel employee and was rushed to local hospital.

The police collected information about him. They came to know that Rounak is on the run and is accused of murdering his ex-fiancee from Indore. Barnagar police then contacted city police after which the accused was brought to city where he is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

He is stated to be out of danger. The police will arrest him after treatment. According to Umath, Rounak and Roshni got engaged few months back. Later, Rounak informed her that he wanted to go to the US for job and he will not take her along. This led to an argument and later they called off the engagement. On Tuesday, they had an argument over breaking engagement following which Rounak slit her throat and jumped from the window of second floor of their office. He jumped on the tin sheet and managed to flee from there. He was captured in CCTV while fleeing the spot.
