Ujjain : Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi was fondly remembered on her 156th martyrdom day by organising a series of programmes at various places here on Wednesday.

The Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Samaj (ABBS) hosted a programme at Hariphatak overbridge square, where Acharya Shekhar, MLA Mohan Yadav and others garlanded the guests. It was also decided that a statue of Rani Laxmi Bai will be installed at the spot soon. Those present in the programme included Surendra Chaturvedi, Mahesh Pujari and Jiyalal Sharma among others. Sanjay Divte conducted the proceedings while Ravindra Bharadwaj proposed a vote of thanks. Likewise, MP Yuva Shiv Sena Gauraksha Nyas also organised a programme at its main office at Akhand Mahakal Colony. On the occasion, Manish Singh Chauhan, Ashok Chauhan, Satpal Maharaj, Vikram Guru and others garlanded the portrait of Rani Laxmi Bai.
