Indore : Police nabbed nine persons from a shed in agriculture fields near Bypass Road on Monday night while planning armed robbery. A car planned use during the crime was also seized along with cache of weapons of all sorts.
According to the police, a tip-off was received that armed men – around 8 to 10 – had gathered in a shed in the fields and they may be planning armed robbery. The informer also said that a car with two men it was outside the shed.
Acting on the tip-off, teams from Vijay Nagar, Khajrana and Kanadia, led by TIs Chatarpal Singh Solanki, CB Singh and Sanjay Chaturvedi, raided the said shed and arrested the men.
The men were brought to the police station where they were identified as Wasim Altaf (28) resident of Agar, Imran Abrar (30) resident of Bhopal, Sikandar Gani (32) resident of Ujjain, Azhar Khan (28) resident of Khajrana, Mohmad Farooqh alias Sultan (38) resident of Khajrana, Mohmad Shaid Khan (22) resident of Chandan Nagar, Chand Khan (30) resident of Khajrana and Raj Chouhan (260 resident of Ambedkar Colony.
The police seized an Indica car and Bolero Jeep – both stolen – from their possession. The vehicles were to be used for the crime. The police also seized one pistol, two live cartridges, a sword, knives and other assortment of weapons along with red chilli powder.
The accused admitted to planning armed robbery in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and are being questioned further.
