Indore: At least 800 jawans posted in PTS (Police Training School) made to walk for around four hours on Monday night to increase their walking practice. This practice of walking more than 20 kilometers may be useful for them in emergencies.According to SP (PTS) Manisha, as per  the rule  the jawans should practice to walk for over 40 kms through forests and urban areas, so that, whenever need arises, they will be able to walk for long distances.

The jawans walked from 10 pm to 2 a.m from PTS to Pipliahana square and then through Bypass back to PTS. Such long range patrolling is assumed as useful for increasing discipline, humbleness and perseverance like qualities in the jawans. It is also worth mentioning that, at present around 1100 boys and girls are getting training in the PTS with tough hardship and strict discipline. According to sources, many jawans showed protest during this long walking exercise. On Saturday too, some jawans showed protest against the special haircut and against some other issues, but ultimately they surrendered for becoming a strong, skilled and smart police personnel.
