Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The North Bengal Frontier took the lead in the 52nd Inter-Frontier Platoon Weapon Shooting Competition 2024, showcasing exceptional marksmanship and dominance in multiple categories. The prestigious competition, organised by the Border Security Force (BSF), is being held at Reoti Range from February 10 to 15.

On Thursday, a medal ceremony was held to honour the top performers. Dinesh Singh Rawat, deputy inspector general (training) from BSF headquarters, New Delhi, attended as the chief guest and felicitated the winners.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of BSF officers, both serving and retired, along with personnel and their families, adding to the event's grandeur. The North Bengal Frontier made a strong statement by securing the top two positions in the rifle match category, proving the sharpshooting skills of its personnel.

In the 51 mm mortar match, teams from Jammu, Gujarat, and Punjab Frontiers also showcased remarkable performances. In the rifle match, North Bengal Frontier secured both gold and silver medals, reaffirming its dominance.

CT Ravindra Kumar clinched first place, earning gold, while CT Rohit Kumar secured second place, taking home the silver medal. CT Jogesh Roy from Jammu Frontier finished third, winning the bronze medal. The 51 mm mortar match witnessed intense competition.

Jammu Frontier won the gold medal, with outstanding performances by HC MD Yaseen, CT Jitbahar Shaikh, and CT Ashish Biswas. Gujarat Frontier claimed the silver medal, represented by HC Pawan Kumar, CT Ram Niwas Pandey, and CT Manjul Hoque.

Punjab Frontier secured the bronze medal, with commendable performances from HC Satyendra Singh, CT Krishna M Balekundri, and CT Lokesh. The competition continues to highlight the precision, discipline, and combat readiness of BSF personnel. With several more events yet to be concluded, all eyes are on North Bengal Frontier, as they strive to maintain their lead and emerge as the tournament champions.
