Indore : Non-science background students, who took national eligibility test (NET) at the centres of the city on Sunday, found the first paper a bit tough as most of the questions were from mathematics. The second and third papers were moderate.
“Overall the test this year was easy. However, the first paper comprised many questions from mathematics. Those who were from non-science background found the paper a bit difficult,” said Amrita Soni, a candidate.
The NET was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in 11 centres in the city including Delhi Public School, Prestige School, Choithram School and Vaishnav Academy. Nearly 5000 candidates took the test.
The First paper carried questions of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It’s primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
The paper carried 60 multiple choice questions of two marks each, out of which the candidate was required to answer any 50. Second paper of only those candidates be evaluated who score minimum 50 per cent marks in the first paper.
The second paper consisted of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. The candidates were required to attempt all the questions and score at least 40 per cent marks in the second paper.
The third paper consisted of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The candidates were required to attempt all the questions and score at least 40 per cent marks in the third paper too.
