Indore: At least four doctors of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College have been transferred to medical colleges in Sagar and Rewa. After getting the transfer orders, the MGM College authorities relieved them from their duties, on Friday.

According to sources, the Medical Education Department issued the transfer orders of two doctors to Sagar Medical College and two to Rewa Medical College. Those who have been transferred to Sagar are: Dermatologist Dr HK Narang and Pharmacologist Dr Pradeep Phadnis.

Whereas gynecologist Dr Sumitra adav and Assistant Professor in PSM Department Dr SB Bansal have been shifted to Rewa Medical College.

Sources said the doctors were shifted to Sagar and Rewa Colleges because inspection of the MCI team has been scheduled in these colleges in the next week. Orders for filling up vacancies in the MGM College have been received yet. It is to be noted that due to scarcity of professors in medical colleges of the state, the State Government used to shift doctors to other medical colleges to show the proper head count whenever any MCI inspection is scheduled.
