Mhow : At a glittering convocation ceremony held on Wednesday at the Iyappa Hall of Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow a batch of 11 officers of TES – 21course were awarded the Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology and Telecommunication. The officers were admitted to fraternity of engineers by Lt General Rajesh Pant, AVSM, VSM, Commandant Military College of Telecommunication Engineering and Senior Colonel Commandant Corps of Signals. In his address he congratulated all the graduating officers on culmination of four years academic cum military training. He brought out the importance of leading by example, being fair, just and always placing service before self. He exhorted the passing out officers to keep up pace with the phenomenal rate of change of technology in the field of Communications and Information Technology and always strive for professional growth. The chief Guest, Lt General Gurdeep Singh, AVSM, Commandant, Infantry School, presented the medals and trophies to all the award winners. In his valedictory address, the Chief Guest complimented all passing out officers for their performance on the course. In his address he focused on “Force Modernization”, which is one of the thrust areas of COAS. He said “It is a challenging task of establishing a converged, robust and secure Information, Communication, Technology, Electronics and Cyber (ICTEC) fabric for the Army”. He reminded the graduating officers about the importance of the “Man behind the Machine”. He emphasized that endeavor of the young officers should be, first to become a good human being, a good soldier and leader of men and then a good technocrat.
MCTE which boasts of an impressive campus and laboratories is the only institution in the nation which is training officers in the specialized fields of Information Technology.
