Indore : Vijay Nagar police nabbed two notorious burglars and a fence and recovered stolen merchandise worth Rs 3.5 lakhs and cash Rs 70000, from their possession. According to the police, acting on a tip-off the police detained one Samay alias Gattu Verma, resident of Malviya Nagar and seized a mobile phone from his possession.

Upon questioning Gattu admitted to stealing the phone and said that he had sold four stolen phones to one Mukesh Gupta. Based on the information provided by Gattu, police arrested Gupta and recovered five mobile phones and a laptop from his possession. The police also recovered two laptops and a Honda Activa Scooter from Gattu’s possession and thus a total of Rs 2.50 lakh worth stolen merchandise was recovered.

Three of the mobiles were stolen from one Aakash Maru, resident of Malviya Nagar on April 10 while remaining stuff was stolen from various locations in the city. Similarly the police also nabbed the burglar who broke into the house of Shama Shekh located in Bhamouri and stole jewellery and cash worth Rs 77500 on April 10. In this instance too acting on a tip-off the police detained a man identified as Santosh alias Rohit Chagan (21), resident of Ramnagar.  During the questioning Santosh broke down and admitted to the theft at Shekh’s home and based on the information provided by him the police recovered jewellery worth Rs 1.20 lakhs along with 72500 cash.
