Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-year-old boy was found hanging at his home in Indore’s Aerodrome area on Sunday night, shortly after chatting with a friend on Instagram.
The boy, Vedant Trivedi was a Class 9 student. He ended his life shortly after speaking with a friend on Instagram. No suicide note was found but deleted chats with a user named "Tanyam" have raised concerns.
According to police, Vedant lived with his parents in Ahilya Nagar on Aerodrome Road. His father, Rajesh Trivedi, is a daily wage worker in the Municipal Corporation. On Sunday evening, Vedant returned home after visiting his aunt in Nariman Point.
Around 9 PM, he asked his father to bring Belpatra and bananas for a Shiva pooja planned for Monday. When his father returned, he was shocked to find Vedant hanging by a noose tied to the window. He was rushed to the nearest hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Vedant was the only child of his parents. According to the family , Vedant was known to be good in studies and had no academic pressure. He did not own a phone but had access of social media including Instagram through his mother’s mobile.
Police found that Vedant had recently deleted messages with a boy named Tanyam. Investigators believe that a conversation with this individual may have resulted to suicide.
At the time of the incident, Vedant’s grandmother Uma was sleeping in the upstairs room. He had given her medicine due to her ill health just moments before taking the step of suicide. Police are continuing their investigation and trying to find the exact reason behind the tragedy.
