14 bikes seized, 2 thieves held

Indore: Palasia police arrested two bike thieves, who are real brothers and used to come to the city for the purpose of stealing bikes. Till now, the police have recovered 14 bikes from them and inquiring further. The police suspect that they might be connected with Kanjar gang.

CSP SM Jaidi informed media persons here on Tuesday that Palasia police arrested the duo while checking vehicles near Jain Mandir of Tilaknagar, on Monday night along with members of Nagar Suraksha Samiti.During the drive, when the police stopped two youths riding on a bike, they tried to speed away.

Then, the police followed them and nabbed them. When asked, they could not show necessary papers of the bike. Hence, the police brought them to police station and interrogated. On sustained interrogation, they accepted that they are involved in stealing bikes.

CSP Jaidi stated the names of the accused as Sandip alias Diwakar Hada and Raj alias Anand Hada. Both of them reside in village Pipalranwa (tehsil- Sonkutch, district- Dewas). The accused accepted thefts of bikes from different PS areas of the city, including Sanyogitaganj, Tukoganj, MG Road, MIG, Chhoti Gwaltoli, Vijay Nagar and Annapurna.

Police recommended rewarding the members of Nagar Suraksha Samitee, who helped in the arrest of these accused brothers. Jaidi further said that, the accused had been stealing bikes since a long time. Police suspect that, the accused may also be involved in other incidents and they may have relation with some Kanjar gang, too. Hence, police are inquiring them further to find it out.
