10 child labourers rescued frome dhabas

Childline, District Woman & Child department conducted raids at Manpur

Indore: Childline with the help of District Woman and Child Department rescued 10 child labourers, all below 14 years old, from two dhabas (road side restaurants) of Manpur area. Speaking to Free Press, Childline coordinator Deepesh Chouksey said, “We received a call on our helpline number 108 about these kids few days ago and after that we started gathered all the information about them like their working timings and location of the dhabas.

After that, with the coordination of Woman and Child department, labour department and the police department, we rescued these child labourers on Thursday afternoon from Vaisno Devi Dhaba and Munshi Dhaba in Manpur area.”
At present the kids are with the Childline and the child welfare department has issued a notice to the owners of the dhaba to prove the legitimate age of these kids in order to safeguard themselves from legal action.
