New Delhi: The Congress on Friday blasted the Modi government for leaving the banking system in tatters with the wilful defaulters doubling from 5090 to 11000 in the last five years. In a tweet, its chief spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala also claimed that the wilful defaults shot up by 308% to touch Rs 121,700 crore at the time of Modi government leaving.
He said this is the contribution of the “suit, boot and loot government,” saying the country would should be free of the ruling party which is really “Berojgari Jamao Party (BJP)” (boost unemployment party).”People have decided not to vote such an incompetent party whose ”lion” of ‘Make in India’ is sleeping and the youths are losing jobs every day,” Surjewala added.
His tweet comes on the heels of the Supreme Court on April 26 giving the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) “last opportunity” to reveal the details of the wilful bank loan defaulters under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The court had made it clear that the RBI was “duty-bound to furnish all information relating to inspection reports and other material” under the RTI Act, 2005, except those which pertained to “matters of national economic interest.”
