Kolkata: Eyeing the 2024 Parliamentary election, the ruling Trinamool Congress this year has planned to set up giant screens near their office in Delhi, Assam, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and several other states to telecast the TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee’s speech on July 21 Martyr’s day program.
Notably, this is the first time that the TMC will telecast their July 21 program outside West Bengal.
Talking to media, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that due to the pandemic even this year she would have a virtual meeting at 2 pm and also that several party workers will be present at every booth.
“More than 20-30 lakh people assemble at our programs and in order to avoid crowding we will hold it virtually,” said Mamata.
According to TMC sources, several Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will be present at the national capital on July 21.
TMC MP Saugata Roy said that people of India want to know what TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee says during the July 21 program.
“Everyone in India knows that Mamata Banerjee stands for development and people want to hear her as everyone is aware that she is the only one who can defeat the BJP,” said Saugata.
According to several political observers this move of TMC is to popularize the party more outside West Bengal ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
It is pertinent to mention that TMC observes martyr’s day every year to commemorate the killing of 13 Youth Congress workers in 1993.
