Kolkata: Police on Friday arrested Arvind Vaidya, the security personnel of the vaccination scam kingpin Debanjan Deb. According to police sources, Arvind was aware of the fake vaccination camp.
“In the name of Covishield, fake jabs were given to people and this was known to Arvind Vaidya. We are trying to ascertain more information from him,” said the sources. They also stating that apart from Debanjan total four persons have been arrested so far in this case.
Meanwhile, BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said that Debanjan was the TMC’s IT cell convener in South Kolkata.
“Blue beacon light has been a common practice in West Bengal under TMC regime. I have learnt that Debanjan was the IT cell convener of TMC in South Kolkata. Everyone including several heavyweight TMC leaders are involved in this scam otherwise Debanjan wouldn’t have carried on the fake jab camps,” stated Ghosh.
Countering Dilip’s claim, TMC spokesperson and state general secretary Kunal Ghosh said that the BJP state president is just trying to ‘throw stones’ at the TMC without any reason.
Notably, on Thursday, TMC MP showed pictures of Arvind Vaidya in a family photo of Governor Dhankhar and hinted towards Dhankhar’s alleged involvement in the scam.
Meanwhile, family members of Arvind Vaidya are crying foul against the police said that he is being framed and also that the photo inside the Governor House was taken while Arvind worked in BSF.
