Veteran Bengali singer joins BJP

Kolkata: Veteran Bengali singer Arati Mukherji joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday. “We welcome her with all the respect and hope her contribution will help revive Bengal’s glory and enrich the state’s culture,” said state BJP President Rahul Sinha. The National Film Award-winner has sung in Hindi films too such as Geet Gata Chal, (1975), Tapasya (1976) and Masoom (1983).
