Reiterates that he complied with all laws in a transparent manner
New Delhi : Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, said on Friday that he hoped the enquiry ordered against him over his land deals in Haryana will not be used for political vendetta.
But, he reiterated that all laws were complied with in a completely transparent manner. “An enquiry has been ordered by the government of Haryana. Let us await its outcome. Neither I nor anyone associated with me has anything to hide,” said Vadra on his facebook page.
He added: “I sincerely hope that an enquiry will not be used for political vendetta.”
Reactions from Vadra came a day after the Haryana government announced a one-man commission to probe the granting of licences to his company and other firms for developing commercial properties in Gurgaon’s Sector 83.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minster Rajnath Singh also said the BJP does not practice vendetta politics, a statement that comes against the backdrop of the Haryana government ordering a judicial probe into the Robert Vadra land deal case.
“This much I can assure the countrymen that as far as our government is concerned, we do not do vendetta politics. We want to take everybody along and want to ensure everyone’s development,” he told reporters here.
The Haryana government had on Thursday formed a commission to investigate the granting of licences to some entities, including Vadra’s company, for developing commercial colonies in Sector 83 of neighbouring Gurgaon. Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said if the Haryana government wants to investigate and inquire into the land deals made during the previous Congress government, where does the question of a vendetta arise.
