New Delhi : United States (US) Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal, on Monday said her visit was aimed at getting a sense of the mood of the new government’s priorities and agendas; and added that Washington wants to partner with the new government in meeting the hopes and aspirations of the people of India, reports ANI.

She also reassured that the US remains committed to its relations with India in the years ahead.”We are here having some wonderful meetings and consultations with the Government of India. The US is very much committed to US-India relations,” Biswal told outside South Block.

“This is an opportunity for us to hear the priorities the new government is seeking in terms of their desire for this  relationship. The US is very excited about the opportunity ahead, and the road ahead. Because, we see the resounding  mandate with which this government has come in, with which prime minister Modi has come in, and the hopes and  the aspirations of the Indian people.
