Although strict rules to stop malpractices during board examinations have been ordered by UP government, Uttar Pradesh secondary education department is yet to implement the orders. The UP board exams started on February 7, 2019. State government had ordered to arrange a control room which will monitor the CCTV footage and voice recordings at exam centres during the board exams.
The control room was to be made available from February 12, 2019 but secondary education department is yet to arrange the facilities. This year, a total of 58,06,922 students are taking up the board exams in UP. As many as 8,354 schools are made into exam centres.
On February 7, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma had conducted a surprise inspection at a school in Rajendra Nagar during board exams. Post the inspection, he said that about 1,314 examination centres were categorised as sensitive, while 448 examination centres were considered to be hyper-sensitive.
