BJP leader and Union Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal had recently made headlines after launching a papad brand that he had claimed would help fight COVID-19. Now, weeks later, Meghwal is in the news again after having contacted the virus.
He took to Twitter to share the news.
Bhabhiji Papad was touted by him as a "helpful" option when it came to the fight against COVID-19.
In a now viral video, Meghwal had claimed that the papad would help develop anti-bodies to fight COVID-19. He had also said that the item in question had been launched under Prime Minister Modi's Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.
The internet does not forget much. Meghwal had been trolled brutally at the time, and now, with him testing positive, people have rushed to remind him of his 'antibody developing' papad.
The Union Minister has been admitted to AIIMS Delhi, and says that his health is fine. The minister of state for heavy industries and parliamentary affairs said that after developing COVID-19 symptoms he had been tested twice. The second report had come back positive.
"After developing symptoms of COVID-19 I had undergone test and was found positive in the second report. On the advice of doctors, I got admitted to AIIMS and I request all those who came in contact with me to take care of their health," the BJP MP from Bikaner said.
Earlier in the day, another MP from Rajasthan and Union Minister Kailash Chaudhary has also tested positive for COVID-19.
