New Delhi : The Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday appointed former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti as the election in-charge of Uttarakhand in what is seen as her quiet removal from Uttar Pradesh she was tending besides her ‘clean Ganga’ campaign.

The party sources said she has been shunted out of Uttar Pradesh at the instance of BJP general secretary Amit Shah, who is the organisational in-charge of the state aiming at the party winning maximum of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Former Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Prabhat Jha, who is just re-elected to the Rajya Sabha, has been made the organisational incharge of Delhi, the responsibility hitherto with former BJP president Nitin Gadkari to free the latter for preparation of various poll documents.
