Trade unions’ strike turns violent in Murshidabad

Murshidabad: The trade unions’ strike turned violent here on Wednesday when a major clash broke out between TMC and CPIM workers. The police resorted to a batoncharge on the protesters. The trade union members today called for a day long nationwide strike over NDA’s proposed changes in labour laws. Essential services like banking and transport were impacted with 10 central trade unions going ahead with the strike.
