Berhampur (Odisha): Three persons were arrested in different places near Berhampur town in Ganjam district of Odisha and a pistol, some ammunition and a motorcycle seized from them, police said today.

The three were identified as Landa Nayak of Gurunthi, Muralidhara Sahu of Jhada Ankuli and Brundaban Moharana of Lathi village, said sub divisional police officer (Berhampur Sadar), Harihar Pani.

A nine-mm pistol was found during check of vehicles by the police on Tuesday night from the motorcycle of Sahu, a businessman. Similarly the ammunition were found from Landa Nayak. Landa along with another person had allegedly attacked a man with pistol on January 26 at Ramapalli. His accomplice was still at large, police said.

Moharana was a member of a dacoit gang. He had escaped during police raids carried out near Bhabinipur about a fortnight ago, police said.
