Muzaffarnagar:  At least 10 persons including three policeman have been injured in a clash that broke out between the two sides at Kairana town in the neighbouring Shamli district, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when some people wanted to meet an undertrial prisoner in a lock-up, who had been brought at a court for a hearing, they said.

When police did not allow them to meet the prisoner, they started pelting stones at them in protest, following which the police took to lathicharge to disperse the crowd, they said.

A case against unidentified people has been registered in this connection, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghanshyam Singh said.
