HYDERABAD: The Telangana state government is contemplating a special network for the smooth conduct of lands digital survey in the coming days. A proposal to this effect was submitted to the government by the Revenue department and the newly contemplated special network would be more advanced than the digital Global Positioning System (GPS) which sets only boundaries of the lands.
The survey, according to officials, is aimed at covering every inch of land across the State with geo-coordinates as giving longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates was easy if latest technology was leveraged.
The revenue department in its proposal has mooted the adoption of visual reference stations and GPS for preparing the new specialised networking process. the revenue wing has submitted reports comprising pictures taken with drone cameras.
The present survey process comprising DGPS depicts only the over ground boundary patterns of the lands and they may not enable the area of the lands meticulously. A new special survey process would take the service of the drones for fixing the minute boundaries by taking virtual ground points as they rely on geo references with the coordination of ground control points. These ground control points are connected to special networking and those two would be identifying the control points with the support of visual reference stations and GPS at the ground level.
