Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has warned of strict action against those who spread rumours.
” If rumours are spread, strict action will be taken against those who indulge in such activities,” he told outside Parliament House. He said, the Prime Minister and he himself have spoken to the Karnataka chief minister, requesting him to ask the

people to share information on rumour mongers. Law Minister Salman Khurshid said it was the duty of the state government to protect the interests of people who were working or studying in Karnataka. ” We can’t allow rumours to overtake democratic discourse,” he said. Company Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily, a former Karnataka Chief Minister, said the state has always welcomed people from all corners of the country and such an exodus was not a good sign.
