Firozabad: A man employed at the ordnance factory in Firozabad has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, after being ensnared in a honey trap. Ravindra Kumar, along with his associate from Agra, was detained by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) for allegedly providing classified military information to ISI handlers in Pakistan, as per a report by India Today.
Officials reported that Kumar, who worked at the Hazratpur Ordnance Factory in Firozabad, had access to sensitive documents. Investigations revealed that he shared highly confidential details, including daily production reports, secret letters from the screening committee, a list of pending requisitions, and information on drones and the Gaganyaan project, with a woman associated with the ISI.
The woman, using the alias Neha Sharma, reached out to Ravindra on Facebook last year. Although she disclosed that she was employed by Pakistan's intelligence agency, she successfully enticed him into a honey trap.
Ravindra Kumar's Secretive Communications and Sensitive Information Leaked to ISI
As per the report, investigators uncovered that Ravindra had saved the woman's contact under the name "Chandan Store Keeper 2" to disguise their communications. It is alleged that he sent her sensitive documents via WhatsApp in exchange for financial rewards.
During searches, the UP ATS found classified material on Ravindra's phone, including confidential information on logistics drone trials conducted by senior Ordnance Factory officers and the 51 Gorkha Rifles regiment. Officials revealed that he had direct contact with ISI handlers in Pakistan, passing along critical intelligence regarding India's defence initiatives.
Following his arrest, ATS officials also apprehended one of Ravindra's associates from Agra. The agency has seized digital evidence, such as WhatsApp conversations and classified documents, which are currently under examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
