New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to entertain a PIL seeking directions to stop alleged funding of the separatist organisations in Jammu and Kashmir by the Centre and the state government, stating that the matter does not fall under the judiciary’s jurisdiction.
Stating that this PIL does not deserve to be entertained, the Bench of Justices Dipak Misra and Uday Umesh Lalit noted that the “grant of funds for the purposes of security and otherwise comes within the domain of the Central government” and as such it does fall in the category of the “judicially manageable proceedings.”
Justice Misra, the presiding judge, said: “In issues like this, the courts have minimal role.”
