SC asks states to respond Centre on MGNREGA

New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Friday asked all states to inform the Centre about the money spent by them in the current financial year so far in implementing the national rural employment guarantee scheme Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The bench also asked to apprise the Centre about their further financial needs to continue with the social welfare scheme to ensure that the benefits reached drought-affected people. It also asked them to elaborate the current status of MGNREGA. –PTI
