Saudi beats up Indians with wooden club

Thiruvananthapuram : The Indian foreign minister had demanded answers from Saudi Arabia after a maid there reportedly had her hand chopped off while trying to escape her employer. Now, Saudis have something more to answer for: A horrifying video of three Indians being brutally thrashed by their Saudi employer has surfaced, eliciting widespread condemnation in Kerala. The immigrants, who hail from north Kerala, had forwarded the video to their family members, with SOS for help. In the video, the Saudi man can be seen chasing the three men, a wooden club in hand, and beating them up. The three were promised jobs in Yemen as electricians but they were cheated and instead taken to Abha in Saudi Arabia, where they were forced to work in a brick kiln. Chief Minister Oommen Chandi on Wednesday said the state authorities have got in touch with the Indian embassy and the associations of Keralites in Saudi Arabia. All efforts are being made to get the men back to India within two days, he added.
