New Delhi : BJP ally RLSP on Friday named its four remaining candidates for the Bihar Assembly polls while its another partner LJP is set to announce the names of its other nominees on Saturday. With Friday’s announcement, Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha-led RLSP has named all its 23 candidates.
Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM (secular) has also named all its 20 candidates. BJP and Ram Vilas Paswan-led LJP are yet to name their six and 19 candidates respectively. The grand alliance of Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), Lalu Prasad’s RJD and Congress have declared the names of their all but one nominees for the election to 243-seat Bihar Assembly. RLSP General Secretary Shivraj Singh announced that party leader Chandra Bhushan Verma will contest from Obra, Birendra Kushwaha from Karhagar, Rinku Soni from Dehri and Rekha Kumari Gupta from Bajpatti. RLSP had earlier announced the list 19 candidates.
Voting will take place in 49 seats in phase 1, 32 in 2nd, 50 in 3rd, 55 in 4th and 57 in 5th. The second, third, fourth and fifth phases of polling will be held on October 16, October 28, November 1 and November 5..
