Panaji: Rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar on Wednesday asked Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) to make it clear within two days, if it is ready to strike an alliance with his outfit Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) for upcoming assembly polls.
“We have conveyed a message to the central committee of MGP that if the talk of alliance has to happen it should start at the earliest. They should get back with their intentions in next two days,” Velingkar told PTI.
Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had said on Tuesday that he dropped two MGP ministers from his Cabinet to prevent the BJP cadres from getting demoralised by their outbursts in the poll-bound state, even as the ally chose to continue support to the government, citing “coalition dharma”.
“GSM feels that if they have alliance with MGP, then the results would be much favourable for both the parties (GSM and MGP) during upcoming polls,” said Velingkar. GSM has already announced their alliance with Shiv Sena and Goa Praja Party.
